Wild wood

High tide, mid afternoon
People fly by in the traffics boom
Knowing, just where you're blowing
Getting to whereТы же движешься куда-то , -
you should be goingк (очередной) своей цели....3
Don't let them get you downНе дай им свалить тебя,
Making you feel guilty aboutЗаставив чувствовать себя виноватым
Golden rain, will bring you riches
All the good things, you deserve nowВсем тем хорошим, что ты заслужил теперь.
Climbing forever trying
Find your way out, of the wildwild wood
Now there's no justice
There's only yourself, that you can trust inЗдесь только ты — тот, кому доверять можно.
And I say, "High tide, mid afternoon"
Oh, people fly by, in the traffics boom
Oh, knowing, just where you're blowing
Getting to where you should be going
Day by day your world fades away
Waiting to feel, all the dreams that say
Golden rain will bring you riches
All the good things, you deserve nowВсем тем хорошим, что ты заслужил теперь.
And I say, "Climbing forever trying"
You're gonna find your way outТы найдешь свой выход
Of the wild wild wood
Say that, you're gonna find your way outТак что ты найдешь свой выход
Of the wild wild wood, of the wild wild wood
1) High tide -
the high tide of fortune - полоса успеха ,
-as happy as a clam at high tide - рада-радёшенька /рад-радёшенек(clam- моллюск) ...
2) Knowing, just where you're blowing -

I have loved this song for years; it is still my favorite. My take on it is... it speaks to those who are struggling. Not living, but existing... not thriving, only surviving... "knowing just where you're blowing..." this line creates an image in my mind of a leaf being blown from place to place (i.e. situations that are not always entirely within your control). "Don't let them get you down, making you feel guilty about..." -- there are always going to be people (usually they are comfortable and better off than you) who will try to make you feel guilty for wanting more than what you have or who will deride you for thinking you deserve more. I have experienced this. "Now there's no justice, there's only yourself that you can trust in." The person he is thinking about has been betrayed and stabbed in the back by those she thought she could trust and can no longer put her faith in anyone but herself. Though this isn't referred to overtly, the writer believes in Karma ("golden rain will bring you riches, all the good things you deserve...); he believes his subject will one day see herself out of the "wild, wild wood" which, by the way, isn't LITERALLY the woods as some seem to think; wild, wild wood could be any place where there is chaos, struggle and unfairness; where you are, basically considered small and/or invisible ("people fly by and the traffics boom"). The writer has no doubt that his subject, who one can infer has struggled and endured for a long time and has lost nearly all hope, will get out of her current situation "You're gonna find your way out of the wild, wild wood."
).

3) Getting to where you should be going -
4) video -interview in 1992........ ...25years later in Albert Hall ...
